Description   Simple and understated, our bonsais pair clean lines and industrial materials with the ancient art of miniature gardening.  Growing bonsai from seed gives complete control over the styling of the tree and allows for the enjoyment of each stage of the tree's growth. Dawn redwood is an ancient tree related to the coastal redwoods of California. This tree was once thought to be extinct - in the '40's it was rediscovered growing in a remote region of Central China.  What makes the Dawn redwood truly special is that is one of only two deciduous coniferous trees.  In the autumn the green foliage turns yellow, then bronze until finally, like leaves, fall off. Includes: tree and moss seed, seedling training pots, seed starting wafers, growing medium, bonsai scissors and rake with spade, river stone, directions, recycled US steel bonsai grow box, ribbon made in US from recycled plastic bottles.  Box 3.25" high x 9.5" square.
